Today was a great day for riding. Earlier in the day I went out for a ride with Kori from GreenCycle Services on a Christmas tree pick up in North Eugene. It was nice to get to know him more. Then I met up with Angel after she was done with all her classes for the day at school. We went for a ride around the river paths, then went home to eat, where I had a stupendous peanut butter sandwich on toasted Dave’s Killer Bread heels (I LOVE heel sandwiches). Then went out for a solo ride into the South Hills of Eugene. I went down Willamette to Fox Hollow to McBeth. This was the first time I went that way. Normally I take Fox Hollow back into town. Going toward McBeth this time was fun. I found Bill’s Bench (if you know anything more about it, I am interested), it’s a nice little bench right off Fox Hollow Rd set aside to watch sunset right on the road. On the plaque it reads:
Bill Sloat, a long-time Fox
Hollow Resident, loved this
spot and dreamed of a bench
here so cyclists and others
could enjoy it too.
Placed by family and friends
of William R. Sloat with
permission of the Dale Smith
Family, owners of this land.
After that I saw a flock turkeys, a sheep/goat with large straight up horns, and three American bison. Sadly the turkeys ran when I got closer, and the sheep/goat and bison were too far away to get a good photo. It was a great sunset ride, with some well deserved pasta when I got home.

Yesterday after reading a blog post from Eugene Bicyclist about the Fern Ridge Bike Path flooding at the underpasses below the streets. (Read Here) I decided to I wanted to check this out for myself, being my first year in Eugene. Before the ride, I constructed something I’ve been meaning to try out. I mounted my Fuji Waterproof XP10 camera on the the end of some “bull-horn” handle bars I got from a friend. I used a camera mount from a cheap small tripod and attached them to the end of the bar. It seemed to work out alright for the first day. This should give us a new perspective to add to the videos Angel and I make.
Here are 2 short video of the first test with the camera mount.

It is not September anymore but I came across some photos I thought I had posted on here. I didn’t then so I will now, because I like these photos.
Angel took this photo, it shows how nice it was that day.
I hope these warm you up.

Yesterday Angel and I went on a nice ride yesterday during the warmer weather. We rode along the bicycle paths in Alton Baker Park.
Here are a couple other videos from earlier this year I haven’t posted.
Summertime ride similar to this last one.
From our bicycle tour in August.
This is a video from our very first day after we moved Eugene, it was in my first blog post.

So far after the first day of inter bike, and wishing I was there. I have been trying to find so news about new product as best as I could. I did come up with a photo of the front fork of a Disc Long Haul Trucker. Also Surly has updated there website, as well as adding a page/specs for the Disc Long Haul Trucker(no photos yet), Troll Complete, Ogre, and Moonlander.
Finally A full photo of the bike. I actually like the looks of the bike as a whole. It looks very clean, but I did just see the rear disc brake cable running on the top side of the down tube. This might not be the final product; Surly hasn’t posted official photos on there sites. I figure there are some little changes they might do. The non-drive side seat stay has the spoke holder; I figured they would do that. With the Disc Trucker, it looks like it will be easier to mount fenders on. My brakes got in the way when I first put my fenders on, do to to the cables.
