Fall Bicycle Ride Video

Yesterday Angel and I went on a nice ride yesterday during the warmer weather. We rode along the bicycle paths in Alton Baker Park.

Here are a couple other videos from earlier this year I haven’t posted.
Summertime ride similar to this last one.

From our bicycle tour in August.

This is a video from our very first day after we moved Eugene, it was in my first blog post.

Science Factory

The other day while Angel and I were riding around we found the Science Factory. It’s a brightly colored children’s museum in Alton Baker Park, across from Autzen Stadium. We took some photos in front of the building.

Doe, a Deer, a Bike Rack

There are some new great bike racks here in Eugene. I think they are pretty nice looking. The racks were designed by students at Lane Community College. Here are some photos I took of them yesterday.

There is a herd of deer in front of the Kiva Grocery Store across from the bus station. In an on street bike corral called the “Deer Park” .

Here is the “Big Wheel” along with signs pointing to major landmarks in Eugene; they include the distance and their approximate travel times by bike.

It seems there soon will be more of these nice bike rack art installations. Here is some information about it from The Register-Guard Article

Another artistic corral — titled “Real Wheels” — is planned to be installed in front of the Cornucopia Restaurant on Pearl Street north of Fifth Avenue next spring. It will include a wagon wheel, bicycle wheel, paddle wheel and others representing several historic modes of transportation.

From Videos to Here

Before I moved to Eugene, before I even thought of moving to Oregon, before I really knew Angel. Back around February of 2008 I came across this video, and loved it. I remember how good I thought it was. The video was a prequel to newer bike videos like the Roll on, Oregon video from the BTA, and the If I Ride Video from People for Bikes. These videos just make you feel happy watching them.

I came across this video yesterday again, while looking through old files of mine. Shortly after starting the video I realized that the background was Eugene, OR. That this whole video was shot here, in Eugene, where I ended up moving 3 years later. From a video I loved and enjoyed watching, to the new city I love and enjoy living in. It’s a happy thought to know that I moved here to a place I can see my self being for a long time.

The music. Not only that but yesterday we rode by Viva Vegetarian Grill and the guys from Explosions In The Sky eating there. We didn’t learn till later that it was them but we saw them. And almost stopped for ice-cream but didn’t.

I will continue posting some more old videos that I used to really like.

The Sun and Robin Hood

We went for a short ride today to pick up an order from REI. Then we just explored around the river front.

Down on the bike path along the river there are planets set up along the path.

First Post

First day in Eugene, had a wonderful day bike ride with my girlfriend. We rode from our house, along the Amazon Creek bike path Fern Ridge Bike Path, out to the end at Meadowlark Prairie. We later rode to University of Oregon and back to Amazon Park to watch some bike polo.

Nice day out.
